Re: Question aboutt if there will be a signal

is to try hooking this box's Coax IN to Coax Out from my Comcast box. W The Comcast box probably is sending a signal on its coax that looks like OTA analog TV to support those old TVs with only coax antenna input. Its not Digital TV so the PVR isn't going to receive that. You could try connecting a...

Re: Version 12.0 slow video HDMI

Does the drive have its own power or is it powered via USB. If it doesn't have its own power, that could be the problem.

Re: Connect to wi-fi network

The PVR does not have ant network capability built in. You could try a wireless or network capable hard drive, use its USB port for the PVR and connect other devices to the recorded files via wireless or network. You wouldn't be able to control the PVR, just read the recorded files. You would need s...

Re: HW180STB Time zone

I think this receiver gets the time info from the local broadcast station (the one you are tuned to). Once the time is received the only thing you probably can do is chang between DST and not. Sometimes activating and deactivating DST kicks the receiver out of its funk. But there are a couple differ...

Re: HW180STB Losing Timer Settings and not Recording

At one time, stations with marginal signals, or not compliant timing, would confuse the PVR (and it seemed to overwrite the memory associated with channels). Try recording only well behaved TV statins, and keep the tuner tuned to that channel as much as possible. There have been quite a few discussi...

Re: Approved Harddrive

Not that I'm aware of. Typically thumb drives do not work well for long, Self powered or smaller 2.5 inch portable type drives typically work well. The lower power the better, but avoid green drives that spin down as their spin up time may make the PVR unhappy. Use a PC to format with NTFS before ho...

Re: All recordings and formatting deleted on external USB dr

I've had better luck pre-formatting drives in NTFS format on the PC instead of relying on the PVR formatting. There has been a few reports of flakey PVR format.

Re: New box won't play files recorded on older box

I've read over on the avsforum that the firmware for the two SoC chips (7802 and 7816) uses a slightly different format, rendering the recordings incompatible. The 7802 is used in newer boxes built this year, the 7816 in older boxes. The chip version is embedded in the box's HW version. I haven't he...
