Re: Audio glitches on playback on external HD using hw-150pv

I used a lower amperage power supply (same voltage) with my HDD dock and I noticed audio/video sync problems. Switching back to the original equipment power supply reestablished proper synchronization.

Have you tried renaming the files with the extension mp4?

Re: Hard Drive that YOU use

My Seagate Video 3.5 (formerly Pipeline® HD.2) model ST3500312CS 500GB drive starts to record in about 10 seconds.
I use it in a NexStar NST-D306WS3 Wi-Fi Hard Drive Dock which of course has its own wall wart.

Re: New box won't play files recorded on older box

I've been using a couple Digital Stream DTX9950s, but I just bought another HW150PVR a few minutes ago from newegg.com. I opted for the 3 year replacement deal for $8 more. Total cost $40.99

Re: Channels only playing for one second, then cut to black

I'd do a Channel Search using Auto Search, then maybe additionally do a Manual Search. If that does sort things out then I'd do a Restore Factory Default.

Re: Channels missing in record setup

You might be able to manually add stations for cable signals in addition to those added with the auto scan feature as is the case with OTA signals. With some OTA stations, no EPG info is provided and recording, therefore, can not be preset. This phenomenon might also be the case with some cable sign...

If by that you mean that only one of multiple Homeworx boxes you use is acting up, then I'd try the firmware upgrade to see if that helps after first trying a factory reset. Then if still not better I'd request an rma.

Re: 14 Months Service Life

After thinking about my last post I turned on an electric space heater and held the Homeworx unit about two inches from it for about 10 seconds on each side until the metal cover felt warm and hey presto! It came on and worked for about 15 hours or so or until it turned itself off as it was wont to ...

Re: 14 Months Service Life (22 Months for mine)

At about 7:55a Fri 10/9/15 the unit wouldn't boot up fully. The splash screen would show for a shorter time than normal. Boot wouldn't get as far as device detection. Unplugging from the power outlet for half a minute along with unplugging the antenna and and other cables allowed for getting a "No S...
