Crashes when I try copy large files NEARLY EVERY TIME

Postby timatsyd » May 9th, 2017, 2:30 am

Hi Guys,

I have the HURS-SU3 and it has become unusable because I cannot copy large media to/from.

I have two 4tb drive using raid1 and the drive is used for media storage (video files).

It is plugged in to the usb3 port. I have tried copying files to/from multiple drives and two separate computers and always get the same issue:

1. Drag a file from SSD local HDD that is a .mov, 500mb for example to the raid drive.
2. Speed seems normal, then all of a sudden speed drops to zero and the drive crashes.
3. If I end the process via task manager, the drive becomes responsive just before the process finishes, then I have to restart the drive to get it back.

See attached system specs.

I have tried:
-Enable write caching on the drive
-Update all usb3 drivers

Note:
-Transfer via normal usb (black) works but takes too long.

Such a simple thing should not be an issue, other usb3 hard drives I have work fine doing the same task.

Please advise,
Thanks in advance.
