Postby linuxuser » March 10th, 2018, 6:35 pm

Hi,

I just purchased this device on Amazon.com

I am using WD Red 4TB drives, and none are being seen.

This is what linux sees in dmesg regarding the enclosure:

[ 892.188003] usb 2-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd
[ 892.204931] usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=152d, idProduct=0567

[ 892.208116] usb-storage 2-1:1.0: Quirks match for vid 152d pid 0567: 5000000

[ 893.732122] usb 2-1: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd

Both My intel NUC NUC5CPYH, and my 2015 Macbook Pro Retina see the enclosure, but none of the drives.

Plz help

So I was able to get my unit to work, and see all of my WD Red 4TB drives!

It turns out that the first drive was DOA. I replaced it, and everything works as expected WHEW!

I am wondering however, if the first drive is dead, does that render all the other good drives invisible?

Thx
