Failed NAS

Postby kevkor2002 » October 10th, 2017, 1:29 pm

While running a back up to permit adding an additional hard to my Mediasonic HFR2-SU3S2FW I noticed the backup hung and the OS lost connection to the Proraid. This has happened in the past but a restart of the chassis restored connectivity. This was rare and random. The Mediasonic HFR2-SU3S2FW is from 2012 so I am well past my warranty on the device but am hoping for a recovery option to get my data back. Is it as simple as getting a new chassis and following the steps to move the drives over to the new chassis? WIndows sees the 3, 2TB drives as 3.7TBs of space which is correct for a RAID5 configuration.

SN: OCT1100083

"File directory is corrupt and unreadable"

One more question:

Has anyone used NAS Data Recovery by Runtime? It seems like a good option if I its more than a failed controller.

Thanks in advance!!
