HFR7-SU3S2 adding a second pair of RAID 1 drives

Postby dsquared » April 11th, 2019, 7:55 pm

Ok I got my HFR7-SU3S2 set up with 1 pair of RAID 1 drives. I plan to add a second pair when the dollars permit. How do I go about setting the second pair - Do I simply remove the first RAID pair and set up the new hard drives (and initialize) and reinstall the first pair?

Raid 1, is only for 2 drives.
So using RAID 1 on the 4 bay, means slot 3 and 4 will not work.

for 4 drives, your other option is Raid 10

No no, you misunderstood. I want to add a second Raid 1 pair of drives, without affecting my existing Raid 1 configuration. Or can I change the original Raid 1 to a Raid 10 without losing the data on the original Raid1?
