Note for using Raid 5

Please note, if you are going to use Raid 5. We Recommend that you use hard drives that are rated for Raid 5 (i.e. Enterprise hard drives)
If you use regular desktop hard drives, it may work but down the road your raid array may corrupt and cause data loss. So save yourself some trouble and get Raid rated hard drives. Don't go cheap on your data.

Some desktop hard drives are rated only for Raid 0 and 1

For example Western Digital:
