Can I install 8 10 TB HDD in this unit

Can I install 8 10 TB HDD in this unit. it's just not supported, or mot possible at all? did anybody have this configuration?

Can you? Sure. But don't all 10 TB drives utilize SMR? Definately not recommended for a Raid setup, but JBOD should be ok. Definately back those puppies up when they are filled!

Can you? Yes you can. But I would not recommend it due to the nature of how SMR drives write or rewrite information. The write speeds vary wildly. They are not designed for sustained writing. So you get a bunch of drives that are not good at writing together and that would be a disaster. These larger 5, 6, 8, 10 TB drives are designed for single use, backup purposes only. Not recommended for use as a system drive either for the same reasons.
If you want 70-80 TB for a media server, buy 8 10T drives for use and another 8 10Ts for backup and get the non-raid box. Or depending on hard drive prices it might be more cost effective to buy 2 media sonic boxes and fill both of them with 5T drives. Check around.
