Analog functionality

Postby Gbuster » July 2nd, 2013, 11:29 am

We have a LPTV OTA station in our viewing area which broadcasts in NTSC analog. Will the HW-150PVR record these programs?

as long as is over the air, and HW-150pvr can find that channel. then you can record it

Yes, many LPTV (low power television) stations continue to broadcast in analog. Will it record the analog station?

if it can pick up those channels (which depends on your area and antenna) , then yes it can record it.

Just for clarification please: The HW-150PVR has the analog functionality, which will "find" (receive) an analog OTA signal (given sufficient strength), and perform an A to D conversion, for the the purpose of recording? In other words, the analog signal is received, and is processed (A to D conversion) by the HW-150PVR, and NOT simply passing the analog signal through, from the RF input, to the RF output ?

Thank you for your help in understanding the HW-150PVR.

No, the HW-150PVR has an ATSC tuner for digital TV broadcasts which cannot receive (or "pick up") analog NTSC broadcasts.
If you wanted to digitally record programs from a LPTV broadcast, then you would have to find a PVR with a NTSC tuner, analog-to-digital converters and MPEG encoders. The HW-150PVR does not have any of these components.

Use a VCR to record those LPTV stations.
