Not all movies on USB drive visable

Postby knoom » February 17th, 2015, 1:18 am

I'm using a 1.5tb external USB drive, I have over 200 movies on the drive but only 15 are visible. The are all the same format, ripped to the drive by the same program but only a few are accessible?

Visibility depends on file format and which playback mode is selected from the USB icon menu MUSIC, PHOTO, MOVIE, and PVR. Each mode browses the file system, but the only files visible are those playable in that mode.

I hope this helps.

I'd be looking for what the 15 you can see have in common (size, format, alphanumeric order.

I have several thousand songs on an SD card but on one Android system only a few were visible. Turned out the tab only recognised mpegs but not wmas.

What program did you use to rip the movies ?

All the movies are MP4 ripped by Handbrake but I discovered some files had the extension .m4v instead of MP4 when looking at the actual properties. That solved the issue, hope that helps others!

Also recognises .mts & mkv.

Now how do I turn subtitles on ? Can see on Windows.

Subtitles (caption track) aren't played back on the pvr. :?

The analog (line 21) captioning is removed before the video is recorded, and the digital captions aren't replayed from recorded files.

I have personally play back the recorded files from my HW-150 using VLC & the subtitles are there. I guess the CPU on it isn't powerful enough to also pull the subtitle stream.

On this device you will have to transcode the video & add what is referred to as hard subs by the fan subbing community.

Thank you, am trying HandBrake with "forced" now, did not find direct mention of "hard" but will see if this works. Know the original file has subs but player needs to select & 180 sw does not seem to have this option.
