HW-180STB, Software / Firmware update

DO NOT update firmware without consulting us 1st. You will end up bricking the unit, if you install wrong firmware.

!*If have the 1st generation of HW180STB which does not have recording function this firmware info and update does not apply to you.*!

DO NOT update firmware without consulting us 1st. Otherwise, you may end up bricking the unit.
ATTN: For firmware request, please provide a photo showing serial #

V7 No Firmware update Required
V1 No Firmware update Required
V8 No Firmware update Required

!*Following firmware work on New Version with recording feature only.*!

V3, please update to V8.1. Fixes recording bugs.
V8.0, please update to V8.1. Fixes recording bugs.
V9.0, please update to V9.1. Fixes recording bugs.
V10.0, update it to V10.1. Fixes bugs on close caption. (If you don't use close caption then no need to update)
V11.0 or V11.1 update to V11.3, fixed bugs on fast forwarding. EPG and recording.

If your box come with different firmware then the above, please contact us and let us know the firmware version you currently have
and serial# on your unit

1. Save firmware to your computer and extract it
2. Copy the usb_upgrade_all_flash.bin file to a USB drive. < Do not put into folders>
3. Insert the USB drive to the usb port of the unit
4. Press menu button on the remote and navigate to System Tab
5. Select Software update and then USB upgrade
6. Select the file usb_upgrade_all_flash.bin and press ok
7. The Unit will start to update and when done it will reset itself
8. If you don't see the blue "software upgrading" screen, Then format your Flash drive into FAT32 and try again
9. After the unit is back, you can now press menu button on the remote and set your region and Enable DST for daylight saving time.
10. Re scan for channels (change the source to Air or Cable) (note: Cable is for Clear QAM ONLY, Available in some USA cable companies. None for Canada)
11. Your recording device should be formatted into NTFS file Format
