HDD issue

Postby sneedo » January 9th, 2016, 6:33 am

Hey All,
I pulled a 500 gb harddrive out of my playstation 4 and bought an enclosure. When I plug the drive into the Homeworx it needs to be reformatted. The PS4 if it's anything like the PS3 encrypts the drive so naturally I formatted to NTFS within the Homeworx itself. This worked great and the drive works well as far as I can tell so far.

When I disconnect the drive and try to hook it into my Windows 10 PC the PC wants to format it, it won't open the drive without it. So I format it, take it back to the Homeworx and it won't even read it. I have to format it there again. Any ideas?

which enclosure are you using?

drive need to be in MBR partition format (GPT will not work)
and NFTS file format

try formatting to that when connected to your computer

Hey,
I just checked it's a NTFS drive that is already MBR.

I'm confused because it's never given me problems before with any other drive. Windows says this drive is healthy. Weird that both Windows and the Homeworx box both want to format this drive and they aren't playing well together.

Any other suggestions?
