Time shift buffer limit

Postby thesavo » May 28th, 2018, 9:03 pm

Is there a hard limit to how much you can pause live TV?

I have a 1tb usb 3.0 drive. I can record multi hour shows on a schedule. I seem to loose anything older than 16 minutes in the pause buffer. Is that expected? I got mine in 2016 from amazon.

The settings let you set the size of your timeshift buffer. That's your limit. Your limit will be however long it takes for you to fill that buffer - which can change depending on the bitrate of the source material being paused. Lower resolution channels will give you a longer pause buffer than higher resolution channels.
